Job description

We are looking for a Hardware Engineer Intern who is interested in Hardware design to join our Engineering team for an internship for the Fall of 2026.  The Hardware Engineer Internship will focus on research and development of new products, leading improvements existing products and overall systems solutions. The Hardware Engineer Intern will help in developing Wave Relay Product solutions with our DOD customers.  The Hardware Engineer Intern will help to identify customer needs through the systems team’s face to face interaction with customers and play a critical role in developing the product solution.  The Hardware Engineer Intern will operate out of our New York City headquarters and manage projects involving a variety of functions with both on-site and remote teams. 

Position Responsibilities 

  • Managing, deriving, and capturing Product/Program requirements including mechanical and electrical interface design specifications, component requirements, and functional block diagrams
  • Supporting software and hardware testing
  • Supporting and facilitating engineering projects including new product/solution development, product changes, and customer integration
  • Supporting the change management process to ensure all required actions have been completed and that communication to key stakeholders is maintained
  • Ensuring quality documentation is updated/created as required, including technical manuals
  • Providing support and delivering solutions for rapid development projects
  • Modifying and updating requirements documents
  • Coordinating preparation of design drawings including updates
  • Supporting and facilitating project scheduling

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field and have completed at least two years of the program
  • Successfully completed at least one course in engineering design
  • Successfully completed at least one course in RF theory
  • Must have a United States security clearance or the ability to obtain a United States security clearance 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior Internship experience with Product Development
  • Prior Internship experience with systems development, evaluation and requirements capture
  • Prior Internship experience with Systems engineering and networking experience
  • Knowledge of audio/video encoder/decoders and interfaces

The pay for this role will vary from $25 to $30 an hour based on the selected individual's experience.
