Experience and Education
  • Bachelor's degree in commercial art, graphic design/communications, advertising, or related field and/or 10 years demonstrated outstanding graphic design and production experience with emphasis on printed and non-print media or equivalent experience and specialized training/coursework in commercial art, graphic design/communications, advertising, or related field.

Job Duties
  • Coordinate the schedule of design services projects. Coordinate the revision of projects. Manages the timeline of projects, working with the design team, keeping a daily log of ongoing projects, status, important dates (client request, delivery date for draft, revisions made, customer sign-off, to printer, delivery.)
  • Assist the assistant director of graphic design in keeping project on deadline and juggling the numerous demands made on the office, requiring decisions to reprioritize projects.
  • Sets up and prints posters, slides, and/or dye-sublimation prints via digital files; scans artwork, journals, books, and slides; edits digital files created for composites, prints, and/or slides.
  • Performs reproduction artwork when necessitated by workload. Produces camera-ready artwork for reproduction in print media.
  • May train and/or provide working supervision for Graphic Designers.
  • Coordinates high-level design projects; maintains budget and time requirements. Records billing and production information accurately; maintains client job files.
  • Reviews print jobs for quality and accuracy; recommends use of color, typography, and aesthetics based on intended use.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with peers and clients. Consults with clients on job content, methods to be used, deadlines and cost estimates; works from client's ideas, hard copy notes/drafts, and/or computer files to create most efficient computer peripheral output and file transmission of graphics.
  • Maintains contact with outside suppliers; acts as liaison between requestor and other process/production providers such as internal photographers, printers, and outside vendors.
  • Acts as information resource in matters related to design practices and specialized computer graphic hardware and software; troubleshoots and upgrades digital equipment.
  • Attends state and national meetings related to field.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
