Description

Job Purpose / Summary

The Graphic Designer creates and executes a range of print and digital marketing initiatives to communicate Three Square Food Bank's brand and mission, build community trust, and increase awareness. This position reports to the Director of Marketing & Communications and ensures all creative work meets required specifications. The Graphic Designer works closely with departments across Three Square to support their marketing and communication needs.


Essential Job Functions

The following duties are considered essential functions of this position. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

  • Create and update marketing materials in accordance with Three Square's current brand standards, including collateral pieces such as brochures, reports, invitations, event programs, email signatures, handouts, and posters.
  • Design creative for advertising, including print, outdoor boards, and digital media, as well as internal and external employee communications.
  • Create presentation materials such as PowerPoints, one-sheets, and signage.
  • Develop designs tailored to the target audience, presenting design concepts with a clear vision and rationale.
  • Work with all departments, briefing and advising them on design, format, production, budget, and timeline, and coordinating projects from concept and quotes through proofing and completion.
  • Manage project deadlines, provide status updates, and collaborate with supervisor and team members to meet project needs.
  • Provide critical proofing of print and digital marketing materials.
  • Work with external vendors to establish best pricing, ensure deadlines are met, and confirm materials are printed and produced to the highest quality, interacting with vendors, staff, clients, and partners in a respectful and professional manner.
  • Serve as the in-house photographer and videographer for events and on-site visits, including photo and video editing.
  • Assist with social media efforts.
  • Maintain an organized, easily accessible archive of all marketing materials, photos, and videos.
  • Maintain technical knowledge by attending design workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
  • Provide administrative support as needed.
  • Manage confidential information.
  • Promote Three Square's mission and vision.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance.

Requirements

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, or 4 or more years of equivalent graphic design work experience.
  • Proficient in Adobe Design Suite, including Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, and similar programs.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Work Environment

  • Work is performed indoors in a climate-controlled office environment. 
  • Moderate noise levels as found in a business office with computer printers, households with TVs, kitchen appliances, and driving in light traffic. 
  • Occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions when traveling between buildings or attending off-site meetings and events. 
  • May occasionally enter warehouse areas, with brief exposure to temperature variation, dust, and elevated noise levels from motorized equipment.
