POSITION SUMMARY
JOB DESCRIPTION: To achieve the long-range profitability of the facility and provide the optimal Guest services possible while operating within predetermined budgetary limitations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Has the ability to perform all functions of supervised positions.
  2. Directly responsible for training, supervising and setting schedules for the Front Desk Clerks and Night Auditor. Assists and leads the Front Desk in achieving the Front Office responsibilities.
  3. Assures all staff are punched in each shift, and appropriate breaks are administered.
  4. Monitors employee work hours to ensure that no overtime is accumulating.
  5. Maintains accurate reservations to maximize revenue and Guest return potentials.
  6. Handles and follows up on all guests' complaints and comments.
  7. Checks all daily arrival reservations and VIP lists, trying to be available upon check-in to ensure correct rooming and handling of special request. Alerts the Hotel Manager of all VIP check-ins.
  8. Maintains a good relationship with the housekeeping department to ensure the highest levels of communication between the two departments such as: group arrivals, late or early check-ins or departures bus arrivals, special requests of guest rooms and VIP arrivals.
  9. Acts as the liaison with sales, accounting, night audit and front desk on all disputed guest charges and transaction deficiencies.
  10. Attends all hotel staff meetings and management meetings as called by the Hotel Manager.
  11. Maintains courtesy and service with commitment to superb Guest relations within the hotel staff, towards guests and other departments.
  12. Ensures that all front office personnel are aware of all emergency procedures as established.
  13. Enforces and communicates hotel policies and procedures to the front desk staff.
  14. Makes operating saving costs and profit improvement recommendations to the Hotel Manager.
  15. Maintains knowledge of all events in the property as a whole.
  16. Attends and/or facilitates all mandatory meetings and training.
  17. Maintains confidentiality at all times.
  18. Is sensitive to Native American Culture.
  19. Operates within the parameters of the Leech Lake Gaming Human Resource Policy, Departmental Policy Manual and all Tribal Internal Controls (TICs), and all other applicable regulations.
  20. Secures the assets of Leech Lake Gaming and the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe.
  21. Performs other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Must have thorough understanding of all operations of the front desk and be able to offer constructive suggestions when necessary.
  2. Must be able to meet the public in a friendly, courteous manner to maintain excellent Guest relations.
  3. Must have computer experience.
  4. Must have demonstrated leadership and motivational abilities and a positive public relations attitude.
  5. Ability to communicate effectively.
  6. Must have accounting or bookkeeping experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  1. Physically capable of standing, sitting and walking for long periods of time.
  2. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
  3. Subject to internal working conditions, including a smoking environment.

EDUCATION AND SKILLS
Education Required: High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
Experience: One to two years related experience
Computer Skills: Must have computer skills
Certificates & Licenses: Must meet Tribal/State compact licensing requirements, pass criminal background check and submit to drug testing.
