Summary/Purpose
Provide engineering expertise to support capital projects and daily manufacturing operations. Partner with cross-functional teams to help the plant meet objectives in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Develop, implement, and maintain systems, equipment, and processes that improve efficiency and support Toyota Production System (TPS) principles for continuous improvement.
Essential Duties and Accountabilities:
  • Design, develop, and improve equipment, processes, tooling, and systems used in manufacturing operations.
  • Support the installation, maintenance, and optimization of production equipment to ensure performance, reliability, and safety.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment or process-related issues affecting production.
  • Assist in reducing scrap, enhancing quality, increasing productivity, and improving equipment performance.
  • Provide technical support for existing manufacturing equipment and processes to maximize uptime and efficiency.
  • Perform standard engineering analyses and create detailed drawings, documentation, or specifications as needed.
  • Lead and manage multiple engineering projects to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineering, production, quality, and maintenance teams to resolve manufacturing and launch-related challenges.
  • Work independently and within cross-functional teams to achieve project goals.
  • Apply and promote lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and detail-oriented with strong ownership of assignments.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate labor, materials, schedules, and project requirements.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

  • Work is performed in a normal office setting and on the manufacturing shop floor.
  • There will be minimal exposure to health or safety hazards.
  • In the office setting, substantial time spent working on a computer. Requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity.
  • Manufacturing floor setting will result in exposure to hot and cold temperatures, noise, fumes, limited dust, and oily coolants. Requires walking, climbing, bending, and occasional lifting of material up to 50 pounds.
  • The performance of this position will require daily exposure to manufacturing areas which require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses with side shields, mandatory hearing protection, and slip resistant shoes as a minimum. Additional protective equipment maybe required to comply with the standard of certain work areas.
