POSITION

The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Instructional Student Assistant - Research Pool.

We welcome applications from current CSUF undergraduate and graduate students in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department to work with individual faculty for conducting research, or project activities within Electrical and Computer Engineering.  

An Instructional Student Assistant - Research is a CSUF graduate or undergraduate student who is appointed at an hourly rate to assist with research or project activities, under the direct supervision of an appropriate faculty member.

This is a pool of Instructional Student Assistant - Research for the department to draw on as necessary.

APPOINTMENTS FROM THE POOL ARE TEMPORARY AND OFTEN MADE JUST PRIOR TO THE START OF THE ACADEMIC TERM. APPLICANTS MAY BE OFFERED EMPLOYMENT ON VERY SHORT NOTICE.

Schedule: Schedule to be determined by supervisor and program needs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Student must have completed related ECE courses as determined by the supervising faculty member with a grade of B or better.
  • Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in at least 3 units in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
  • Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
  • In good academic standing (not on academic notice or academic dismissal).
  • Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide eligibility documents.

COMPENSATION

All Instructional Student Assistant appointments are made under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the United Auto Workers.  Initial appointments are for one semester only.

Classification Range: $17.86 - $23.84 per hour
Anticipated hiring range depending on qualification, not to exceed $20.00

Hours: Normal research assignments vary from 1 hour to 12 hours a week. Students may work no more than a total of 20 hours per week.

(Monday-Friday per approval 10 to 20 hours per week at max)
