The opportunity

Associated Engineering, a proudly Canadian, Employee-owned Company is seeking an experienced and dedicated Civil CAD Design Technologist to join our Transportation team in our Saskatoon office. In this role you will be responsible for the design and drafting of transportation and civil infrastructure projects for both private and public sector clients. This position is a full-time position.

What you’ll do

  • Participate in the design and drafting of transportation and civil infrastructure projects for both private and public sector clients.
  • Preparing project drawings through the interpretation of design information provided by engineers and senior designers for road reconstruction and linear infrastructure projects.
  • Resident inspection and surveys may be required from time to time.
  • Delivering production work in accordance with company technical and operating procedures.
  • Providing support to other members of the team.
  • Delivering projects on budget and within identified schedules.
  • Engaging in a collaborative work environment with your team, as well as other disciplines/offices.

  • highways and roadways
  • culverts and drainage improvements
  • site grading and earthworks modeling
  • parking lots
  • land developments (new neighbourhoods, industrial parks, commercial, residential, and institutional site developments)
  • storm ponds
  • infrastructure renewal and replacements.
  • water distribution systems
  • wastewater and stormwater collection systems

You may also complete site visits and assist in surveying and other field work as required. You will provide support to other members of our team while working on a variety of projects in a collaborative team environment.

Does this sound like you?

  • Diploma in Engineering Technology from an accredited post-secondary institution
  • Certification with Technology Professionals Saskatchewan (PTech or CTech) is an asset
  • Preferred 1-2 years experience in the drafting of transportation and civil infrastructure projects, gained in an engineering workplace setting
  • Proven ability in the use of AutoDesk Civil3D, as well as other CAD-based civil design software
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Committed team player
  • Demonstrated time management skills and ability to work independently
  • Proven analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Forward thinking and focused on opportunities to improve overall team performance and client service
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Experience working in the field is an asset
  • Possess a valid class 5 driver's license
  • Available to travel to project sites on occasion
