Job description

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.  

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.


The Manufacturing Software Engineer is responsible for developing, and maintaining automated manufacturing methods, processes, and operations for new and existing products. This role involves working closely with design engineering, managing manufacturing process capital, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to ensure efficient and cost-effective production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Codes, integrates, tests hardware and software, and documents automated software manufacturing solutions.
  • Estimate manufacturing costs, determine time standards, and make recommendations for tooling and process requirements of new or existing product lines.
  • Document procedures, process qualifications, work instructions, and shop aids.
  • Ability to quickly learn hardware architectures of different products.
  • Participates with technicians on enhancing production line output
  • Provide process analysis to support new business (NPI) opportunity assessment and quoting.
  • Participates in internal review of software, hardware, and mechanical components and systems.
  • Operates within an Agile/Scrum framework to deliver iterative software improvements.
  • Researches and analyzes data to determine feasibility of design or application.
  • Keeps abreast of technology trends and champions new ideas and product and process improvements.
  • Applies principles and techniques of computer engineering, electrical engineering, and mathematical analysis to the development of manufacturing software.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient understanding of lean manufacturing principles, six sigma methodology, and electrical/mechanical component integration.
  • Proficiency in C/C++, Rust, and Python
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with Linux application development
  • Familiar with Xilinx tools and development
  • Familiar with STM32 or MSP430 development
  • Familiar in RESTCONF or SNMP
  • Proficiency with Git version control
  • Proficient knowledge of computer engineering concepts, principles, and theories
  • Proficient written and verbal communications skills.
  • Identifies opportunities to apply AI for continuous improvement and innovation
