Job description

Overview
Opportunity Summary:
General Dynamics Electric Boat, the world's foremost designer and builder of nuclear submarines, is seeking an EBIT Visualization Architect to join the organization within the Information Technology Department.
The ideal candidate will have an enterprise mindset with the goal of aligning IT work with business-driven objectives. Relevant profiles include broad knowledge of IT and experience with information systems, business and technology architecture domains as well as architecture frameworks and processes. The candidate should be an active learner and able to work independently on multiple tasks simultaneously. This role requires experience across varying applications in the areas of software requirements definition, development, design, and re-engineering
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
  • Interpreting business needs to define and address a solution's functional and nonfunctional architectural requirements
  • Articulating ideas through compelling and relatable narratives to educate and engage relevant stakeholders
  • Resolving issues and making progress even when given unclear, contradictory, or inconsistent information
  • Collaborating with other IT professionals, such as other application architects, data architects, software developers, system engineers, and infrastructure engineers
  • Designing or governing IT application solution architectures to meet internal and/or external business needs
  • Managing formal and informal communications with target audience to build more effective stakeholder relationships
  • Coaching non-architects to think like architects and apply architectural frameworks/processes independently

Qualifications
Required:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering
  • 1-5 years of post-graduate engineering
  • Experience in Siemens tools (ex: NX, TCVIS) is required

Preferred:
  • Siemens Vis Automation
    • Visualization levels (Base, Standard, Pro)
    • General knowledge of all functionalities
    • 3D Model Visualization
    • Digital Mockup (DMU)
    • Clearance Analysis
    • Design Review
    • Geometry Comparison
  • Working knowledge of Export JT formats including PLMXml (PLMXml Vis Schema knowledge would be desirable)
  • Collaboration experience would be nice (supply chain)
  • Working knowledge of programs like Unity, Unreal Engine
  • Teamcenter
    • Preferences affecting Vis Mockup configuration
    • Experience with Revision rules
  • Working knowledge of vis Integrations with AW, NX, Teamcenter
  • Knowledge of NX to JT, tessUG.config
  • Knowledge of JT Open and Utilities
  • Experience with Vismock Session Files
  • Working Knowledge of Digital Twin/Digital Mockup
  • Working Knowledge of JT2Go

Skills
  • Understanding the enterprise-level implications of day-day decisions
  • Understanding of Visualization File formats (such as JT files and UGMASTERs)
