We are seeking an experienced Senior PCB/CAD Layout Engineer to lead the design and delivery of cutting-edge printed circuit board layouts across diverse electrical systems, including both flexible and rigid circuit boards. This role combines technical excellence with strategic impact, directly contributing to Intel's key objectives through innovative PCB design solutions.

Using advanced computer-aided engineering design software and Cadence Allegro tools, you will create comprehensive layouts, detailed drawings, and schematics while establishing industry-leading design guidelines, specifications, and methodologies. This position offers the exciting opportunity to work on complex, high-density designs that push the boundaries of current technology.

Key Responsibilities

PCB Design & Engineering Excellence

  • Lead end-to-end PCB layout design for all board types, including rigid and flexible circuits
  • Optimize CAD processes for maximum efficiency and performance
  • Generate and document design for manufacturing and tape out packages
  • Resolve complex PCB/PB issues through advanced troubleshooting techniques

Component Library Leadership

  • Create and maintain schematic and layout components with meticulous attention to detail
  • Develop comprehensive documentation for new component reviews and approval workflows
  • Ensure library quality assurance and resolve component-related issues promptly

Strategic Contractor Management

  • Manage external PCB design resources through quote generation, PO creation, and oversight
  • Optimize contractor workload distribution and capacity planning
  • Drive performance management and issue resolution for external partners

Software License Optimization

  • Plan and manage software license requirements strategically
  • Resolve license-related issues and optimize resource allocation

Advanced Technical Implementation

  • Apply expertise in high-density, high-speed, mixed-signal, analog, digital, and RF designs
  • Define sophisticated component placement and trace routing rules
  • Collaborate with signal and power integrity teams to achieve superior PCB performance
  • Provide strategic guidance on vendor fabrication capabilities while optimizing for cost-effectiveness and reliability
  • Manage comprehensive PCB documentation and final design packages

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or in a STEM related field
  • 3+ yearsof PCB layout design and CAD engineering experience
  • Experience with Cadence Allegro PCB design tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with additional industry-standard ECAD tools
  • Experience in high-speed digital, analog, RF, and mixed-signal PCB design
  • Experience with PCB fabrication processes and material selection
  • Experience with design for manufacturing, regulatory compliance, and quality requirements
