The Impact You'll Have:
As a Construction Engineering Intern you will have the ability to jump start your career by working in a variety of civil construction experiences. You will work closely with other construction engineers and project inspection staff in the field to learn and develop basic construction concepts, means and methods.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist with inspection and oversight of civil engineering construction projects.
  • Verify conformance of contractors' work with approved plans and specifications.
  • Prepare contractor pay estimates and maintain detailed records of construction.
  • Coordinate materials testing activities, perform quantity calculations, and produce project record documentation.
  • Be responsible for gathering information or documents for design purposes and performing basic survey and design calculations.

Required Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing an Associates or Bachelor's degree in Civil Technology, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Must have completed at least one (1) year of post-secondary education, with at least one (1) semester of education remaining.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Basic surveying and engineering calculations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of construction terminology.
  • General undergraduate-level proficiency with math, surveying, construction plan reading and review, materials testing, and construction materials and techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and safety.
  • Basic computer skills to include some of the following program types:
  • AutoCAD Civil3D
  • MicroStation
  • Microsoft Office
  • Other applicable software applications
