Job description


Primary Function:


The Engineering Intern will be utilized for LEAN manufacturing processes, updating facility drawings, technical writing of Ampacet processes and procedures, and selectively for capital improvement projects.


Responsibilities:

  • Building and documenting LEAN manufacturing processes with local team
  • Technical writing of work instructions and safety procedures
  • Will use CAD/SolidWorks tools to create Plant Drawings, Facility Flow (how the utilities are laid out), Electrical Drawings, Sub-Assembly Drawings, Part Drawings, Production Layout Drawings
  • Assisting Maintenance Manager with project management
  • Communicating and confirming project deadlines
  • Providing project progress reports
  • Responsibility level will progress with experience

Minimum Qualifications:


  • Must have completed at least one year of college in Industrial Engineering or a related program
  • Experience with CAD 2D/3D
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
  • Technical writing experience
  • Project management experience
  • Must be safety conscious, adaptable, and dependable
  • Must be a self-starter, able to work with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrates exceptional teamwork
  • Possesses high levels of motivation and optimism with an action orientation
  • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, organization skills, and problem solving skills
  • Must be comfortable interacting with all levels of the organization

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3rd or 4th year college student pursuing Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Industrial Engineering

Part-Time, expected to last 6 - 12 months.
