Fence Masters is a fast-growing Chicago-area fencing company specializing in residential and commercial fencing solutions. We pride ourselves on high-quality craftsmanship, dependable project execution, and strong customer service. We are seeking motivated team members looking to grow long-term within the company.

Position Overview

Fence Masters is seeking a detail-oriented CAD Drafter / Project Assistant to join our team full-time onsite in Chicago. This position is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career professional interested in growing within the construction and fencing industry. The ideal candidate is organized, eager to learn, and comfortable managing project handoffs in a fast-paced environment. Experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting software is required. Candidates with drafting, construction, fencing, or project coordination experience are strongly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and revise fence layouts and construction drawings using CAD software

  • Assist with project coordination, scheduling, and administrative support

  • Review site plans, blueprints, surveys, and measurements

  • Coordinate with project managers, crews, vendors, and clients

  • Create work orders based on quotes and project plans

  • Obtain and manage dig numbers and other related permitting information

  • Track bids, proposals, and other key project metrics through organize project documentation

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of drawing experience

  • Recent graduate or early-career professional preferred

  • Associate or Bachelorโ€™s degree in Drafting & Design Technology, CAD Technology,

    Construction Management, Architectural Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology, or

    related field preferred

  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar drafting software required

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to read construction drawings and measurements

  • Construction, fencing, or project coordination experience is preferred

  • Motivated to learn and grow within the company

  • Familiarity with AI-assisted workflows or automation tools is a plus

Compensation

  • Typical range: approximately $26โ€“$34/hour
