Job description

Job Summary:
Corning Incorporated is one of the world’s leading innovators in glass, ceramic, and materials science. The .NET Applications and Web Developer will work with a team to manage and develop systems for manufacturing optical fiber, participating in projects aimed at meeting division objectives and driving cost reductions.
Responsibilities:
• Work hand in hand with a team of engineers to develop and provide support for our Manufacturing Systems, encompassing software to server assistance across the optical fiber division.
• Participate in capital projects.
• Some after hours, on-call support may be needed.
Qualifications:
Required:
• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering; or equivalent industry experience.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in Object-Oriented design and development using languages such as C#, VB.Net, Java, Python, etc.
• Proficient in computer programming skills including one or more of the following: C#, VB.Net, SQL, Git.
Preferred:
• Experience with MVC and/or Blazor
• Experience with Windows Server and IIS administration.
• Familiarity with Git and Azure Dev Ops/Git Lab.
• Experience in production support within a manufacturing environment.
• Exceptional problem-solving and debugging skills with a keen ability to discern the underlying needs in requests.
