Application Engineer(Electrical)
Position Description
This position provides technical service for our customers and helps our end user to solve issues. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between customer needs and engineering capabilities, providing technical expertise and support throughout the sales and post-sales cycle.
Major Areas of Responsibility
  1. Conduct engineering test
  2. Product repair
  3. Answer phone call/Emails from Customers
  4. Analysis customer’s issue and find out solutions to fix it
  5. Provide online training/troubleshooting service
  6. Perform onsite service(Calibration, Troubleshoot, Repair)
  7. Write engineering documents
  8. Collect customer feedback and open issues, feedback them to R amp;D team
  9. Support throughout the sales and post-sales
Primary Objectives
This position is to ensure our customers feel they are well covered by Arbin professionals and keep good relationship between our customers and us.
This position also serves as a major source of customer feedback/system issues. Feedback shall be collected, discussed internally and treated.
Specific Responsibilities of the Job
  1. Conduct engineering Test
  • Reproduce reported issue/bug
  • Verify new feature/new fix
  • Evaluate system limitation/performance during different scenarios
  • Perform specific tests per customer’s needs.
  1. Product repair
  • Troubleshoot product
  • Diagnose defected boards
  • Arbin product circuit analysis and performance improvement
  • Components soldering
  1. Answer phone call/Emails from Customers
  • Answer incoming phone calls/emails, summarize customer’s questions and feedback.
  1. Analysis customer’s issue and find out solutions to fix it
  • Collect necessary files/data from customer, analyze the root cause of any issue reported, find out solution to fix it. An issue can be escalated to engineering team.
  1. Provide online training/troubleshooting service
  • Use phone call or remote access software to expedite troubleshooting process and provide online real time training/instruction.
  1. Perform onsite service(Calibration, Troubleshoot, Repair)
  • Perform onsite Service including but not limited to: System set up, System calibration, troubleshooting, customer training.
  1. Write engineering documents
  • Internal documents include but not limited to:
(1) Modules assemble/testing instruction
(2) Modules troubleshoot procedure
(3) Module/Product/Feature Introduction
(4) Engineering test report.
  • External documents include but not limited to:
(1) Product white paper (technical introduction).
(2) Product General Introduction.
(3) Product Specification sheet.
  1. Collect customer feedback and open issues, feedback them to R amp;D team.
  • Collect feedback through phone calls, emails and visits. Summarize it for further discussion.
  1. Support throughout the sales and post-sales
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  1. Have basic Electrical Engineering knowledge including component/circuit analysis.
  • Power system/Power Electronics is preferred.
  1. Understand analog circuit theory and digital circuit theory.
  2. Electronic components soldering (SMT, Through holes)
  3. Able to use multimeters, oscilloscope and other common equipment.
  4. Ability to read and write technical documents.
  5. Travel work will be 25% - 50% when needed.
  6. Good communication with others and able to talk before camera.
  7. Good learning ability and attitude
  8. Able to handle multiple tasks
  9. Knowledge of computer networks is preferred.
  10. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Education and Experience
  • Degree or equivalent experience: BS or above in Electrical Engineering
  • Years of experience: 0 or above
  • Specialized training in: Electrical or electronics
Other Requirements
Able to take coast to coast flight, able to drive independently.
U.S citizens preferred
Work Environment
Office/Lab/Facility/onsite combined
