Job description

Job Description:
The Engineering Intern position at AAON provides students with hands-on experience in a real-world HVAC manufacturing environment. Interns will support engineering teams in the design, testing, and improvement of products and processes. This role is designed to develop technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and industry knowledge through practical application. Interns will work closely with experienced engineers and contribute to projects that align with AAON's innovation and quality standards.
Engineering Interns will assist with a variety of tasks depending on their assigned discipline, including product development, testing, CAD modeling, and process optimization. Interns are expected to be detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Assist in the design and development of HVAC components and systems.

  • Support testing and validation of products to ensure performance and compliance.

  • Create and update technical drawings and documentation using CAD software.

  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and root cause analysis.

  • Collect and analyze data to support engineering decisions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and R&D.

  • Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and technical documentation.

  • Observe and follow safety and quality standards in all engineering activities.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred: Completion of at least two years of undergraduate coursework or relevant certifications (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Six Sigma).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Basic understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes.

  • Familiarity with CAD software and engineering documentation.
