Job description

The Job This recruitment is only open to current County of San Bernardino, Fire District, or Special Districts employees who hold a regular, contract, extra-help, recurrent, Public Service Employee, Work Experience Program (WEX), or intern position. Former PSE, WEX, or interns are eligible to apply up to six (6) months from the end of their assignment. County employment must be clearly listed in the work experience section of the application.

The Innovation and Technology Department (ITD) is accepting applications for Senior Data Center Environmental Analyst.* This position will work in the Public Safety Communications Division supporting the County's enterprise environmental systems for core data center locations. This position has extensive knowledge and expertise to support multiple enterprise level systems. The Senior Data Center Environmental Analyst assumes a countywide role, providing knowledge and leadership in HVAC/CRAC environmental systems; critical site backup generators; UPS and battery backup systems; chemical agent fire suppression and alarm systems; and building management systems

Availability: Must be available to work On-Call in a 24 hours/7 days a week environment. Incumbents may occasionally work evenings, weekends, and holiday hours. Physical Requirements: Position requires multiple repetitive motions and the ability to lift at least 50 pounds overhead.

Travel: Travel throughout the County may be required and employees will be required to make provision for such transportation. Sponsorship: San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future. Minimum Requirements REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of full time equivalent work experience, within the past five (5) years, performing systems administration at the enterprise level.

Experience must include two (2) of the following: Administration and maintenance of HVAC/CRAC Environmental Systems Administration and maintenance of Critical Site Backup Generators Administration and maintenance of UPS and Battery Backup Systems Administration and maintenance of Chemical Agent Fire Suppression and Alarm Systems Administration and maintenance of Building Management Systems (BMS) -AND- REQUIRED EDUCATION: Thirty (30) semester (45 quarter) units of completed, post high-school coursework from an accredited university or technical school in Computer Information Systems, Business/Public Administration, Environmental Science, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related field. A list of coursework must be submitted with the application. Education Substitution: An additional one (1) year of qualifying experience may substitute for 15 semester (23 quarter) units of the education requirement, up to 30 semester (45 quarter) units.

Desired Qualifications The ideal candidate will have the following: Vendor certifications for Building Management Systems (i.e. Siemens Desigo CC, Alerton Compass 2, etc.) Experience coordinating vendor and contact resources for data center environmental systems Ability to analyze, troubleshoot, and optimize environmental systems and ancillary equipment (power distribution, telemetry servers, and alarm systems) in support of critical data center operations Work well in a collaborative team environment. Be able to work on multiple projects and assignments at the same time in an organized manner
