SALARY: Based on eligibility.

  • $25 per hour

  • $2,500 housing

  • $700 travel stipends


SHIFT: At least 1 fall or spring semester plus summer.

  • 40-hour weeks.

  • Our can plants are 24/7 - 365 day a year facilities which requires alternating shift work for co-ops throughout the experience.

  • Must have flexibility to work varying shifts at times.

Our University Programs are crafted to fast-track the careers of future leaders, allowing current students to gain exposure to a variety of roles and challenges in our Supply operations. We believe in investing in our future leaders today, in your Co-Op you will have the opportunity to have an in-depth exposure to our supply business operations and relevant experiences right from the start, our program is designed to accelerate the careers of future leaders and change makers. The program is available for one semester with the option to extend longer based on business needs. Throughout the program, Co-Ops will gain an in-depth view of our metal container business while gaining experience, as well as flexing creative and analytical muscles through project work in the facility.

Co-Ops will be placed in our Metal Container business where the cans are made! Other areas of exposure include our Logistics group to work on the distribution of materials to and from our plant or our Utilities Dept to understand the support functions like machining, chemical and electrical processes.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • As a Co-Op you will step into the shoes of a full-time role at the can plant. You will be assigned project(s) that will result in process improvement and be responsible for reporting out on deliverables.

  • Use Lean Manufacturing techniques to accomplish tasks within project scope

  • Shift work may be required to understand the full scope of the project.

  • Bring your authentic self to work every day, lead with humility and drive top performance in a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment.

  • Build relationships with operators and technicians in respective areas for aid in projects

  • Development opportunities to help boost skillset and build long-term leadership potential.

  • Upon successful completion of the co-op, you will be given the opportunity to present your final project(s) and results to members of our senior leadership team.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current university student or recent university graduate - Bachelor's Degree with a GPA of 3.0 or greater and must have completed at least 4 semesters toward a bachelor's degree.

  • A background in Engineering, Science, or Environmental/Safety may help but all majors are accepted.

  • Geographical & Functional mobility - available to relocate to New Windsor, NY

  • Must have the ability to walk up and down elevated catwalks and stairs, stand for long periods of time, and work in all environmental conditions including extreme temperatures.

  • Ability to leverage data and insights to provide effective solutions to complex problems.

  • Can demonstrate leadership capabilities in previous work experience and/or extracurricular activities.

  • Self-motivated to drive results and deliver above and beyond expectations.

  • Ability to collaborate, be an active listener, seek diverse opinions and input from others, and foster an inclusive environment.

  • Embraces ambiguity and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Able to effectively manage several projects and teams at once, while being agile in the face of setbacks and change.
