We are currently looking for a Production Engineering Co-op to join our team in Smyrna, TN.
Job Description
  • Support Production Engineers in developing and optimizing assembly sequences and operator work instructions during production trials by conducting process audits and implementing documentation updates as needed.
  • Assist in the creation, validation, and maintenance of Quality Assurance documentation related to fastening torque specifications and electrical connections.
  • Support the validation and upkeep of Process Control Charts and Product Quality Assurance Charts to ensure compliance with manufacturing standards.
  • Collect, analyze, and track critical measurement point data to identify trends and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Partner with New Model, Current Model, and Equipment Engineers to implement production aids and equipment that enhance manufacturing safety, quality, and ergonomics, including creating technical drawings using AutoCAD and Inventor.
  • Assist in aligning Bills of Material (BOM) with operator work instructions to ensure production accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support part and process change management activities during production trials, model launches, and ongoing manufacturing operations.
  • Participate in Virtual Reality (VR) CAD studies to evaluate manufacturing processes, equipment layouts, and ergonomic considerations.
  • Assist with 3D modeling, prototyping, and the creation of 3D-printed components to support engineering and manufacturing projects.

Who We're Looking for:
Required:
  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate degree program in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Academic standing of Sophomore level or higher.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above (Candidates will be required to provide an official or unofficial transcript during the application process for verification.)
  • Ability to perform work onsite at the Smyrna Vehicle Assembly Plant.
