The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Keyport Division (NUWCDIVKPT) Detachment Pacific (Code 04/TDC) functions as NUWC's forward presence in the Middle Pacific, Guam, and Western Pacific (WESTPAC) providing Detachment/Site Management in accordance with the Commanding Officer's (CO) letter of delegated authority to provide for program management, planning, policy, and execution of assigned programs and facility operations at the Detachment; monitor Safety and Occupational Health (SOH), physical and information security, personnel administration, including Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and professional development and morale, environmental compliance, appropriate interaction with all levels of Government and public affairs functions, site and area coordination for emergency preparedness, facilities management and space utilization, site material readiness, proper use of Government equipment and proper expenditure of funds, and adherence to good management practices and controls; manage the Detachment/On-Site Office (OSO); perform Navy programs duties under authority; manage military personnel allowance in accordance with Navy regulations, including Article 15 authority (non-judicial punishment); and serve as the Command's representative to the local installation CO or facility host in negotiating for utilities, security services, and facility maintenance. Divisions supported within this task are Hawaii Fleet Test and Operational Assessment Division (Code 24), Pearl Harbor Torpedo Division (Code 34), and Fleet Technical Support Division (Code 45).
Reporting to the Program Manager, the Electronic Technician Maintenance (ETM) supports the Unmanned Undersea Vehicle (UUV) program with tasks including turnaround, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, post-run, battery charging and maintenance, launch and recovery, and more on the Hawaii Detachments Support Services contract. This position is located in Kekaha, HI.
What You'll Do
  • Perform hands-on electronic maintenance and troubleshooting for Unmanned Undersea Vehicles (UUVs).
  • Complete precision soldering and de-soldering of wires, connectors, and circuit boards using 2-M standards.
  • Maintain soldering proficiency and ESD certification when working with sensitive electronics.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance, post-run inspections, and system turnarounds.
  • Support battery charging and basic battery maintenance.
  • Assist with launch and recovery operations, including setup and teardown.
  • Operate forklifts up to 10,000 lbs and Category 3 cranes up to 4,000 lbs.
  • Inspect and use rigging gear to safely move equipment and vehicles.
  • Support target production and general mission operations as required.
  • Bid and proposal support if requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications:
  • The ability to obtain and maintain an active secret clearance is required to be considered for this position.
  • HS Diploma required.
  • One (1) year of experience in industrial and shop operations.
  • Basic electronics & computer experience.
  • Basic Mechanical ability or experience.
  • Must possess basic computer literacy and data entry skills.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
  • Must possess strong time management skills.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, changing, and challenging environment.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to remain seated in a stationary position 50% of the time. Must also be able to alternate between sitting, standing, and walking.
  • The ability to lift items that may weigh up to 50 pounds.
  • The work requires some physical exertion, such as long periods of standing, or recurring and considerable walking, stooping, bending, crouching, and climbing such as performing regular shop activities, inspections, or to observe and study operations in an industrial or comparable work area, or on-board ships, submarines, and/or in weapon facilities.
  • The ability to operate heavy machinery and industrial tools with limited to no supervision. Examples may include but are not limited to: Electric/Diesel Forklift, CNC Milling Machine, Welding/Soldering, CAT III Overhead Crane, pallet jack, "Big Joe" stand-behind pallet lift mechanism, and more.

INDUS aims to provide a competitive compensation package, including a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is $31.10 to $39.60 per hour. The pay range for this role considers job-related knowledge, skills, work location, education and training, and certifications.
