Job Title: Database Administrator

Job Duties: Uline, Inc. seeks a Database Administrator in Waukegan, Illinois to perform database administration. Design databases, tables, stored procedures, views, triggers, and other database objects. Design and develop ETL (Extract, Transform & Load) solutions. Optimize database performance through indexing, query optimization, database design. Participate in periodic High Availability / Disaster Recovery tests of database systems. Develop T-SQL code, SSIS ETL packages, and SSRS reports. Plan, test, coordinate, and perform database version upgrades and apply security patches. Monitor database performance, capacity planning, and resource consumption. Upgrade and patch DBMS's. Ensure databases and database objects are backed up according to business requirements, and recovery procedures are tested and documented. Work closely with application development project teams to ensure optimal application performance. Provide day-to-day support for databases and database applications. Work under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment. Annual salary: $133,973 - $133,973.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field plus 5 progressive years of database administration experience. Must have at least 5 years of experience in each of the following: 1. Microsoft SQL Server; 2. Monitoring database security, performance, optimizing through techniques including indexing, query optimization and database design; 3. Developing T-SQL code, SSIS ETL packages, and SSRS reports; 4. Planning, testing, coordinating, and performing database version upgrades and applying security patches; and 5. SQL Server Replication.
