Job Description: Midlevel Oracle/SQL Database Administrator (DBA)
Location: Warren, NJ Hybrid (2 Days per Week)
Experience: 8 Years
Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases.
  • Support routine database operations such as backups, restores, and space management.
  • Monitor database performance and help identify slow queries, bottlenecks, and potential improvements
  • Help ensure database availability, reliability, and security.

Performance & Monitoring
  • Utilize database monitoring tools to track system health and performance.
  • Assist in tuning SQL queries, indexes, and database parameters under guidance from senior DBAs.
  • Backup & Recovery
  • Perform and validate backup jobs.
  • Participate in disaster recovery drills and support recovery efforts as needed.

Security & Compliance
  • Support user account provisioning and permission management.
  • Assist in maintaining compliance with internal policies and industry standards.

Support & Maintenance
  • Respond to database-related incidents and service requests.
  • Document configurations, changes, and standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and other teams to troubleshoot issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
