Our program is designed to enhance the lives of those with dementia through meaningful engagement, and we are seeking a Recreation Assistant to lead our efforts in fostering a vibrant and stimulating environment.
Position Overview:
The Recreation Assistant is responsible for planning and leading recreational programs that cater to the strengths, abilities, and interests of our memory care residents. This role involves organizing daily activities, managing social programs, and collaborating with our care team to ensure residents experience fulfillment and joy each day.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Program Leadership: Conduct engaging daily activities that encourage resident participation.
  • Resident Interaction: Foster meaningful connections by modeling and encouraging participation in recreational programs.
  • Event Planning: Assist in creating monthly calendars, newsletters, and resident social clubs.
  • Collaboration: Work with interdisciplinary teams to implement memory care programming effectively.
  • Resident Support: Assist with pre-move-in procedures, assessments, and emotional and social support.
  • Community Engagement: Organize and attend family support groups, outings, and special events.
  • Team Training: Mentor staff and volunteers on best practices for engaging with residents.
