This position will be based in Chesapeake, VA and will require occasional travel.
Job Overview
Computer hardware and software engineers research, design, develop, and test computer hardware and software programs. Hardware includes computer chips, circuit boards, computer systems, and related equipment such as keyboards, modems, and printers. Computer software engineers develop software systems that control computers. Computer hardware engineers work exclusively with computers and computer-related equipment. In addition to design and development duties, computer hardware engineers supervise the manufacturing and installation of computers and computer-related equipment. Computer software engineers develop new computer software systems and incorporate new technologies into a rapidly growing range of applications. They apply principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis to design, develop, test, and evaluate software and systems enabling computers to perform various applications. Software engineers analyze users' needs, design, construct, test, and maintain computer applications software or systems.
Involved in design and development of software types including operating systems, network distribution software, and compilers. Solve technical problems that arise. Must possess strong programming skills but focus more on developing algorithms and solving programming problems. Common programming languages used are C, C++, Python and Java.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Duties:
  • Will serve as lead AV systems programmer
  • Analyze new and changed system requirements, system designs, and refine and/or develop new programming solutions to ensure continuity between IT infrastructure design and installation
  • Follow and implement and apply the Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)
  • Correct/Mitigate vulnerabilities detected during security scanning
  • Direct the Installation of operating systems and device configurations & documenting device configurations
  • Direct the Development of System Operational Verification Test (SOVT) documents for each system
  • Analyze new and changed system requirements, system designs, and refining technical solutions to ensure continuity between AV infrastructure design and installation
  • Provide configuration management objectives for equipment to provide a secure, integrated system
  • Provide senior level programming support for audiovisual system controllers (Python based)
  • Identify any materials incidental to the integration task not provided for the project.
  • Complete system tests in accordance with established test plans to ensure total operation and functional compatibly with interfacing/interacting systems, subsystems, equipment and computer programs
  • Provide troubleshooting guidance and advise corrective action for maintenance and operational issues
  • Review of the IDP and programming requirements to become familiar with AV requirements, performance to confirm prevailing site conditions can be supported with the proposed architecture

  • Will serve as the onsite team lead for supporting the Python Programming requirements in Colorado Springs, CO

Job Requirements
Mandatory:
  • Masters level degree in Engineering discipline / Computer Science
  • Seven (7) years of professional experience in computer design, software development or computer networks
  • Current active TS/SCI Clearance
  • COMPTIA Sec+
  • AVIXA Certified Technical Specialist (CTS)

Preferred:
  • Experience in Audio Visual Engineering & Design well versed in AV Applications
  • Certified Technical Specialist - Design (CTS-D) (AVIXA Certification)
  • Certified Quality Designer - (CQD) (AQAV Certification)
  • Possess knowledge and skills for monitoring and measuring quality while the AV system is designed and developed through design reviews and engineering review milestones

Working Conditions:
  • Position may be exposed to and is expected to protect internal/external confidential/unclassified information.
  • Work is generally performed indoors (sedentary).
  • Outdoor work, if any, is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions.
  • Travel will be necessary (up to 30%)
