The successful candidate will support commercial and industrial electrical construction projects by developing accurate installation drawings, Building Information Modeling (BIM), and prefabrication drawings using AutoCAD MEP and Autodesk Revit.

This position plays a critical role in coordinating electrical systems with other construction trades to improve field productivity, reduce installation conflicts, and support successful project execution. The ideal candidate is organized, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously, and enjoys working in a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed electrical installation drawings using AutoCAD MEP and Autodesk Revit.
  • Create and maintain accurate BIM models throughout all phases of project development.
  • Produce detailed prefabrication drawings for conduit racks, equipment assemblies, panel boards, device rough-ins, and other prefabricated electrical assemblies.
  • Generate coordinated shop drawings for field installation.
  • Participate in BIM coordination meetings with owners, architects, engineers, general contractors, and other subcontractors, both in person and virtually.
  • Review contract documents, electrical drawings, specifications, and project models to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate electrical systems with structural, mechanical, plumbing, fire protection, and architectural trades to identify and resolve clashes.
  • Incorporate field markups, RFIs, ASIs, bulletins, and design revisions into project models and drawings.
  • Maintain drawing revisions and project documentation throughout the life of each project.
  • Assist project managers and field leadership by preparing layout drawings, installation details, and construction documentation.
  • Create spool sheets and fabrication drawings to support off-site prefabrication efforts.
  • Perform quality control reviews to ensure drawings comply with company standards and project requirements.
  • Manage multiple projects while meeting project deadlines and production schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with project managers, estimators, field supervisors, and electricians.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the company’s BIM and VDC processes.
  • Support project managers with the bidding process by performing administrative tasks (which may include the downloading and printing of bid documents)
QualificationsRequired
  • Minimum 2 years of CAD/BIM experience in the commercial or industrial construction industry.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD MEP, Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Navisworks (viewer) and Revizto.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, one-line diagrams, specifications, and project documents.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams).
Preferred
  • Experience working for an electrical contractor.
  • Working knowledge of electrical construction methods and installation practices.
  • Experience coordinating projects using Navisworks Manage.
  • Familiarity with Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC), BIM 360, or similar project collaboration platforms.
  • Knowledge of electrical prefabrication methods and manufacturing workflows.
  • Understanding of NEC requirements as they relate to electrical system layouts.
  • Experience producing hanger layouts, conduit rack drawings, underground conduit layouts, equipment room layouts, and electrical room coordination drawings.
  • Associate degree or technical diploma in Drafting, Architectural Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
Desired Skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
