Job description

Job Summary:

Mercury Systems is seeking the best and brightest talent to help us bring cutting-edge technology to mission-critical aerospace and defense applications, advancing innovation where it matters most. The Mechanical Assembler will perform a variety of tasks relating to production operations on electronics and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies.

We're aiming for an October hiring timeline.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Install, assemble and inspect electronic components per documented work instructions.
  • Interpret job routers, written instructions, wiring diagrams and schematic drawings for assembly of electronics.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, leadership and initiatives daily.
  • Perform a variety of inspections to ensure assemblies meet/exceed IPC standards.
  • Perform pass downs with outgoing/incoming shifts.
  • Disassemble and re-assemble, modify, rework assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.
  • Experience working with Microsoft products.
  • Experience to train new team members.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain security clearance
  • Typically requires a minimum of 2-3+ years of mechanical assembly experience
  • Knowledge of ESD (Electrostatic discharge) procedures
  • Must have meticulous hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
  • Must be detail oriented and able to multitask
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule to meet production and customer needs, which includes overtime (based on business needs)
  • IPC-610/620 and/or JSTD 001 certifications or ability to obtain
  • Must be comfortable with working under a microscope

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Electronics assembly and inspection experience
  • Knowledgeable of 5S/6S and basics on lean manufacturing principles
  • Soldering under microscope
  • Experience with setting up and training a team from scratch or willingness to learn this down the road
  • Associate degree in computer technology or related field preferred

  • Constantly move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. Specific abilities required by the job include positioning oneself to lift or move objects weighing up to 40lbs.
  • Constant movement and use of limbs. Specific abilities required by this job include prolonged standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing and frequently pinching and/or gripping. Sometimes, working under a microscope for long periods of time will be required
  • Frequently observe, detect, discern, and convey information. Specific abilities required by this job include near, far and color vision acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Requires good manual dexterity and coordination, and stamina. Specific abilities required by this job include the frequent requirement of overtime work.

This position requires you to haveor obtain a government security clearance. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
