Position Summary
The Designer is responsible for designing custom-manufactured products for the indoor sports industry, including basketball backstops, volleyball systems, divider curtains, and other PORTER brand equipment. Using architectural plans, specifications, and customer requirements, you will create detailed CAD assemblies, production drawings, and equipment layouts that support manufacturing and field installation.

What You'll Do
  • Review and interpret architectural plans, specifications, and customer-provided sketches.
  • Design custom products and equipment layouts using CAD software and engineering drawing tools.
  • Develop detailed drawings and assemblies for manufacturing and installation.
  • Evaluate designs for safety, functionality, appearance, manufacturability, serviceability, and cost.
  • Modify and refine designs based on customer requests, production requirements, and project changes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing products and design processes.
  • Collaborate with sales, engineering, manufacturing, and customers to ensure project success.
  • Assist in solving design challenges and recommending practical solutions.
  • Generate bills of materials (BOMs) and release completed designs to production.
  • Maintain project information and documentation within company systems.
