Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Computer/Network Technician to be part of our experienced technical team. This position will be located in Wallops Island, VA at the Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC). The SCSC provides live and simulated integrated warfare capabilities in a net-centric, maritime environment to develop, test, evaluate and conduct fleet operations and training for the warfighter. SCSC is the premier Land Based Test Site for the Aegis and SSDS Navy Shipboard platforms. The mission at SCSC includes Research and Development, Training, Fleet Emergent Testing, System Integration and hardware/software Certification.
Responsibilities include the following:
Perform System Administration on Surface Combat Systems Center (SCSC) tactical information systems.
Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, provide access control, monitor, and log analysis for Navy combat systems, tactical computer systems, and networks.
Troubleshoot and repair tactical hardware and software.
Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Minimum education and years of related/relevant work experience required: High School/GED and at least 5 years of experience supporting Navy combat systems tactical computer systems and networks. If the selected candidate is not PQS 301 qualified, he/she will be required to obtain PQS 301 qualification within the first 3 months of employment. If the selected candidate does not currently hold Security + certification, he/she will be required to obtain Security + within 6 months of date of hire. Although not required, candidates who possess REDHAT and network device experience and support CISCO router/switches, IBM blade centers in a LINUX REDHAT environment are highly desired.
Security clearance requirement: Eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required). Selected candidate will receive a contingent offer and start date will be delayed until at least an interim clearance is granted.
Also required:
IT-1 level clearance per SECNAV M-5510.30
Demonstrated experience assessing, troubleshooting, performing corrective maintenance and preventative maintenance, and performing system administrator duties on Navy combat systems, tactical computer systems, and networks.
Security clearance requirements: This position requires the successful candidate to be able to obtain a Secret level clearance. The criteria for obtaining and holding a clearance are driven by US government requirements. You must be a US citizen to obtain a security clearance. If selected candidate is not in possession of an active Secret clearance, then he/she will receive a contingent offer and start date will be delayed until an interim Secret clearance is granted.

Navy Maintenance Certification in accordance with PQS -301, NAVEDTRA 43241-K
Information Assurance Technicians (IAT) Level 2 or higher with certification in current Networking Technologies, Operating Systems or Information Security (as per DoD Directive 8570)

Full-Time Salary Range: $57866 - $98372
