U.S. Citizenship Required
Secret Clearance Active or Eligible

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical test equipment and test environments used to support the validation and production of aerospace and defense products.
  • Create 3D CAD models, assemblies, engineering drawings, and documentation using Creo Parametric and related design tools.
  • Perform mechanical design activities including component selection, tolerance analysis, packaging, and design for manufacturability.
  • Support the integration, troubleshooting, and validation of test systems to ensure compliance with performance, accuracy, and reliability requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams including electrical, systems, manufacturing, and test engineers to develop integrated test solutions.
  • Evaluate existing production test equipment and recommend design improvements to enhance performance, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, drawing packages, and configuration-controlled design artifacts.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide technical input throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Support environmental testing activities involving vibration, thermal, shock, and other qualification requirements.
  • Assist with root cause investigations and corrective actions related to test equipment or production support issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or another STEM-related discipline and a minimum of two (2) years of relevant engineering experience, or an advanced degree in a related field.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in mechanical design, product development, test equipment design, and/or production support engineering.
  • Experience using CAD solid modeling and engineering analysis tools, with an emphasis on Creo Parametric (Pro/ENGINEER).
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Experience creating and maintaining mechanical drawings, assemblies, and engineering documentation.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional engineering environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and technical communication skills.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience creating and maintaining complex engineering drawing packages and large assemblies.
  • Familiarity with configuration management processes and tools such as Windchill, cPDM, or similar PLM systems.
  • Experience working within Model-Based Engineering (MBE) or Model-Based Design (MBD) environments.
  • Knowledge of mechanical subsystem development, including materials selection, thermal analysis, structural analysis, and control system integration.
  • Experience supporting environmental qualification testing, including vibration, shock, thermal, and environmental stress screening (ESS).
  • Exposure to systems engineering principles and requirements-driven development processes.
  • Experience supporting products from concept through integration, testing, manufacturing, and production support.
