Job description

GSE Dynamics, Inc., a full-service engineering and manufacturing company located in Hauppauge, NY is seeking an experienced Aerospace/Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for aerospace and defense systems.
  • Design and support the manufacturing of tools/fixtures for welding, assembly and composites manufacturing
  • Create and maintain 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and Program Management throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Support design reviews, configuration management, and engineering documentation.
  • Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action activities.
  • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, engineering standards, and AS9100 quality requirements.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product design and manufacturability.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 3-5 years of mechanical design experience in the aerospace, defense, or related manufacturing industry.
  • S. Citizenship required.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, technical specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, engineering materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with CAD software such as NX, CATIA, SolidWorks, Creo, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with composite materials used in aerospace and defense applications.
  • Experience with FEA and simulation tools such as ANSYS, NASTRAN, or Abaqus.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 and ISO quality standards.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Salary Range: $90,000 – $120,000 annual salary

This is an estimated salary range with any actual compensation offers to be dependent upon factors including experience, skill set, qualifications, and other factors allowed by law.
