Technical Production Drafting - CAD and/or VectorWorks

*This is a freelance, remote position

*Compensation range for this role is $35-75hr, commensurate with experience

This role is right for you if:

You have experience drafting and have a passion for the finer details. You have a strong grasp of how to draft in either CAD or VectorWorks and you have a background in technical theatre (Technical Director, Theatrical Production Manager, Lighting Designer, Scenic Designer, etc.)

What you'll be doing:
  • Drawing scaled floor plans of live events, brand activations, user conferences, and corporate meetings.
  • Use AutoCAD or VectorWorks to create and/or update drawings based on input or sketches from project stakeholders (Technical Director, Producer, DOP, etc.).
  • Utilize knowledge of scenic construction principles, mathematics, materials, and physical sciences to complete detailed drawings.
  • Create and make revisions to production drawings that include over all ground plans and/or detailed views with all necessary dimensions and labels.
  • Maintain drafting standards utilizing appropriate company guidelines.
  • Work directly with production staff, creative and Technical Directors on changes to CAD designs.
  • Juggle several different projects and works with a variety of TDs and Producers simultaneously.
What you'll bring to Jack:
  • Must be fluent AutoCAD 2D (3D strongly encouraged, or a willingness to learn)
  • Proficiency in VectorWorks is recommended but not required.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, (Word, Excel, Office)
  • A background in Theatre (drafting, technical direction, production management, scenic design, lighting design, etc.), Live Events, or Architecture preferred.
