HDR is currently seeking a Bridge CAD/BIM Designer to join our team in Doral and Fort Lauderdale offices in Florida. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed drawings, layouts and sketches for conventional concrete and steel bridges, retaining walls and miscellaneous structures using computer-aided design software.
  • Develop details for complex concrete and steel bridges which may include: prestressed concrete, post tensioned concrete, steel plate girder, truss systems, segmental and cable-stayed.
  • Typical projects will be for highway, transit, and railway projects.
  • Work independently with direction from supervisor and engineers

 Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Engineering Technology.
  • Experience in bridge structures drafting or related projects.
  • Experience working with BIM and 3D CAD software platforms.
  • Experience interpreting as-built plans for existing structures. 
  • Ability to use Excel to calculate quantities for cost estimating purposes. 
  • Ability and willingness to work cooperatively with project team members.
  • Preference given to local candidates.

  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational traits are essential
