Job description

Point Design Group is seeking a CAD Technician / Designer to join our team and support our growing civil site design and utility engineering practices. This position will work closely with engineers, surveyors, and other technical staff to develop detailed plans and construction documents for a variety of public- and private-sector projects.


We are looking for someone who takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work and is interested in building a long-term career in civil engineering design.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings and construction documents using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
  • Develop site plans, grading plans, utility plans, profiles, details, and other civil design documents.
  • Assist with design of water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and other utility infrastructure.
  • Incorporate survey information, existing conditions, and engineering design information into plan sets.
  • Revise drawings based on engineering direction, field information, and client comments.
  • Coordinate drawings and technical information with engineers, surveyors, and other disciplines.
  • Assist with preparation of plan sets for permitting, bidding, and construction.
  • Maintain organized project files and CAD standards.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree, technical degree, or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D preferred.
  • Experience with civil site design, land development, utilities, or infrastructure projects is a plus.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering plans and survey information.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
