ENGINEER, DESIGN MECHANICAL-WESSELS
The Design Engineer will be responsible for creating and developing detailed designs for pressure vessels and related products using SolidWorks and other 3D modeling tools. This role requires strong mechanical design skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to ensure designs meet ASME standards and customer specifications. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop 3D models and detailed drawings custom tanks and vessels for HVAC, industrial, and municipal applications, ensuring compliance with ASME and JIS standards using SolidWorks or similar CAD software.
  • Perform engineering calculations for pressure ratings, material thickness, and structural integrity.
  • Connect designs with Infor Visual Manufacturing ERP and CADLink systems to streamline production workflows.
  • Collaborate with production teams to ensure manufacturability and adherence to quality standards.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure traceability throughout the design process.
  • Provide technical support to sales and customer service teams for custom projects.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Support various manufacturing and implementation projects as needed. Including but not limited to:ERP projects, Facility projects, software implementation projects as needed..
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks or other 3D modeling software
  • Knowledge of fabrication materials and processes (i.e. cutting, welding, machining)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be well organized and have good communication skills.
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Must have knowledge of the use of hand tools and power equipment.
  • Must have good attention to detail.
  • Must work well as a team player.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with CAD-ERP Integration Software (i.e CADLINK)
  • Understanding pressure vessel design principles and ASME code requirements.
  • Familiarity with epoxy, cement, and glass linings for specialized applications.
  • Experience designing tanks for HVAC, industrial, or municipal systems.
  • Knowledge of fluid dynamics and thermal systems.
