Job description

Work Flexibility: Onsite
Schedule
  • 1st Shift: Mon - Fri, 8am - 5pm
  • Position is onsite in Portage, MI
  • Overtime based on business needs

What you will do
  • Create, revise, and maintain 3D CAD models and engineering drawings using PTC Creo in accordance with company drafting standards.
  • Partner with mechanical, product, and electrical engineers to support product development, sustaining engineering activities, prototype builds, testing, and design updates.
  • Serve as a Windchill power user, managing CAD data, document lifecycles, version control, workflows, and product release activities.
  • Review, check, and approve engineering drawings and documentation to ensure compliance with company drafting standards and quality requirements.
  • Create, route, and expedite Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), engineering changes, and initial design release documentation through applicable approval processes.
  • Maintain Device Master Record documentation and support product sustainment, quality system, and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical support, training, and troubleshooting to engineers on CAD, Windchill, and documentation processes.
  • Support design-for-manufacturability initiatives and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve design, documentation, and production-related issues.

What you need
Required
  • Bachelor's degree, or 5+ years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree
  • Strong working knowledge of ERP, PLM, and CAD systems, including 3D modeling, engineering drawings, drafting standards, technical documentation, product data management, and engineering change processes.
  • Experience interpreting technical drawings and supporting engineering documentation and change control processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred
  • Experience with Creo, Windchill, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, or similar CAD/PLM systems.
  • Manufacturing or fabrication experience, including machining, welding, or Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
  • Experience supporting document control systems and product lifecycle management workflows.
