Fire Foe Corp is a full-service fire protection contractor with a passion for saving lives and protecting property. We're growing, and we're looking for a talented Fire Protection Sprinkler Designer to join our team.
Never heard of this role? You're not alone — it's one of the best-kept secrets in the construction trades. Read on.
---
ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Fire Protection Sprinkler Designer at Fire Foe Corp, you'll play a critical role in the construction of new buildings and the renovation of existing ones. Your work directly contributes to the safety of the people who live, work, and shop in the buildings you help protect.
You'll study architectural drawings to understand how a building is constructed, then design a fire sprinkler system that fits seamlessly within the structure and meets all applicable building codes. Once your design is complete, you'll prepare permit submission packages — including plans and equipment data sheets — for submittal to the local building department. From there, you'll generate fabrication reports for our in-house fab shop, helping move material efficiently to our sprinkler fitters in the field.
Every project you complete is a direct contribution to your community. That's something worth showing up for.
---
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Review and interpret architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings
• Design fire sprinkler systems in compliance with NFPA standards and local building codes
• Prepare permit submittal packages including hydraulic calculations and equipment data sheets
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and field foremen
• Generate fabrication and material reports for the shop and field crews
• Perform design revisions as needed based on field conditions or inspector feedback
---
QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience in fire sprinkler design (2+ years preferred)
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, HydraCAD, or AutoSprink
• Familiarity with NFPA 13, 13R, and 13D standards
• NICET Fire Protection certification (preferred but not required — we're willing to invest in the right candidate)
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Effective communication skills for coordinating across teams
---
WHAT WE OFFER
• Competitive salary commensurate with experience
• Health, dental, and vision benefits
• 401k with 3% company match
• Paid time off and holidays
• Supportive team environment with room to grow
• Small office environment
• NICET exam sponsorship and continuing education support
---
