  • Final Interview - Conducted with our Director of Operations and/or President.

Summary
The Design Specialist creates 3D renderings and supports interior design, layout
optimization, and finish selections for Palmetto Renovations' projects. Proficiency in
CAD software like Chief Architect and Home Designer Pro is essential, along with
expertise in color theory and design. Collaborating with Project Specialists, the Sales
Director, and other teams, this role ensures client needs are met through accurate,
visually appealing designs. Responsibilities include client consultations, coordinating
finish selections, and providing administrative support for smooth project execution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Attend consultations and walkthroughs, collaborating with clients and vendors to
    coordinate finish selections while adhering to timelines and budgets.
  • Create detailed 3D renderings of existing and proposed spaces, ensuring
    accuracy through audits and resolving discrepancies. Develop floor plans,
    elevations, sections, and perspective drawings to support the design process.
  • Assist with rendering updates during consultations and import custom materials
    and catalogs to create realistic project representations.
  • Assisting/coordinating with clients and vendors regarding selections, selection
    timelines, status of orders, facilitating appointments, etc.
  • Prepare and review design documents, compile finalized selections, and create
    Finishes Contracts for client approval.
  • Create comprehensive sets of drawings to guide field personnel and develop
    customized presentations to showcase proposed renovations.
  • Creates job binders of consolidated contract information from the Sales
    Renovations Contract, Finish materials contract, and product specifications sheet
    to deliver to the Fulfillment department for order processing.
  • Research and implement updates to design software, maintain resources such
    as questionnaires and checklists, and train new team members on design
    processes.
  • Maintains showroom samples in a workable and organized manner.
  • Maintain digital entries and documentation in platforms like Monday.com and
    BuilderTrend.com, organize showroom samples, and create job binders for field
    teams.
  • Respond to inquiries promptly, maintain workspace cleanliness, and provide
    updates during staff and sales meetings.

Training, Education, and Licensure
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of education,
    experience and training that provides the required knowledge and skills.
  • Three (3) years of related work experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
  • Proficient in Home Designer Pro, Chief Architect and/or other AutoCAD or 3D
    Rendering software.
  • Ability to learn necessary software (i.e., monday.com, QuickBooks, etc.)
    indigenous to the construction business environment.
  • Excellent organizational, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others, oral and written.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Must be able to multi-task and easily adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Comply with all organizational policies and standards regarding ethical business.
  • Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement.
  • Strong work ethic to meet changes in responsibilities that will take place daily.
