Job description

CAD PRODUCT DESIGNER

Rockland Custom Products is currently seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Designer to join our product design team. The Ideal candidate will work with our sales and production teams to create and update our product lines. This role will be responsible for maintaining all design files, working with sales and management to create new products, create BOMโ€™s from design files, and provide necessary items for product release.

Duties:
  • Design and update products using 2D and 3D, AutoCAD and Solidworks software
  • Create, revise, and maintain detailed component and assembly drawings
  • Draft instruction documents and assembly procedures, and gather sample materials.
  • Conduct quality control checks and ensure compliance with design standards.
  • Work with products to resolve any design issues during production
  • Create BOMโ€™s based on designs
  • Interpret customer specifications and develop appropriate design responses, ensuring functionality and manufacturability.
  • Provide drawings for customer approval
  • Communicate with Sales and customers to develop designs to meet customer needs
  • Maintain product design schedule and meet required deadlines for product release
  • Organize digital and physical files per company procedures.
  • Update files with new components and designs
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) like gloves, goggles, and respirators.

  • Proficiency in CAD software with a minimum of 3 years of practical experience using AutoCAD and Solidworks software.

  • Strong communication and customer relation skills
  • Proficient time management, organization and scheduling skills
  • NetSuite Experience a plus
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong problemsolving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • A degree or certification in drafting, engineering technology, or a related field is preferred but not required.
