Description
Desired Education: High school diploma, Associates degree in related field, or drafting/design certification
This is a full-time position and the candidate can expect working in a team environment with daily interactions with Sales Engineers, other drafters, and Production personnel. These interactions will lead to efficiencies in the design process, a design that meets customer specifications, and is a good match with manufacturing capabilities.
Specific Responsibilities:
This position will be generating models for heat exchangers where designs are not overly complex and efficiency and throughput are required. There are some automation tools that complement the design process and are also a key element when generating associated Bills of Material and Routers. At the beginning of their employment, time will be spent in the factory learning the methodologies used to produce product. This orientation and training will provide the general foundation and reasoning needed when creating all Designs, BOM's and Routers.
Requirements
• The candidate has experience with creating, reading, and interpreting technical drawings based on given specifications - Its preferable that this experience come from a manufacturing, HVAC, or related technical background
• Comprehensive understanding of dimensional measurements and has mathematical aptitude
• The candidate must be highly productive - the position will work in a fast pace environment that presents a variety of design opportunities, with very short lead times, requiring use of computer aided design, and the associated automation tools.
• Candidates with some CAD software experience is preferred
• Good communication skills are required
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail
• Having a mechanical mindset and understanding the process of working in a manufacturing environment
