Job description

The CAD Technician is part of a civil engineering design team involved in a variety public infrastructure and transportation improvement projects (i.e., streets, drainage, water, sanitary sewer, etc.). The position is a technical support role in our Fort Worth Headquarters.

Responsibilities/Expectations: Responsibilities require being actively engaged in plan production and design of projects. More specifically, responsibilities include:

โ€ขUsing established CAD standards to prepare electronic drawings from minimum marked-up plans and/or verbal instruction by engineers/designers

โ€ขOversight of CAD systems management, refinement and evolution of standards

โ€ขOrganizing and scheduling your own work, and at times, the work of other team members to accomplish project goals within established budgets and schedules

โ€ขCoordination with engineers and other design team members

โ€ขPlotting and assembling construction plans

Requirements

At a minimum, candidates must meet the following educational and professional requirements:

Education/Certification

โ€ขHigh School graduate or GED required

โ€ขPost-high school technical coursework, certification or degree in computer drafting/design or related field preferred

Professional

โ€ขResponsive and results-oriented in service to clients

โ€ข2-4 years of civil CAD experience and understanding of a variety of projects including residential subdivisions, public infrastructure improvements (i.e., streets, drainage, water, sanitary sewer, etc.), site development projects involving parks, schools, churches, hospitals, and retail/commercial centers

โ€ขProficient in the latest version of Bentley Microstation and OpenRoads Designer, 2D and 3D drafting, GEOPAK, as well as Microsoft Word and Excel

โ€ขDemonstrated ability to develop solid working relationships with other team members

โ€ขAbility to quickly adapt to and adopt new CAD standards and procedures

โ€ขCommitment to quality in the design and presentation of drawings

โ€ขPrior Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE)/utility experience is preferred but not required
