Job description

Overview

Burkhardt is seeking an experienced CAD Technician to join our team. CAD Technicians work alongside our land surveyors and civil engineers to produce various land survey drawings and civil construction plans utilizing Autodesk Civil 3D and other industry-standard software.

Responsibilities

  • Perform research to obtain deeds, plats, right-of-way plans and other land surveying related documents.
  • Utilize Autodesk Civil 3D to produce various survey drawings and base maps from raw survey data and property research, including ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys, Boundary Surveys, Topographical Surveys, Right-of-Way and Utility Services, andAs-Built Surveys.
  • Review construction drawings and prepare control and point files for survey field team to execute construction layout.
  • Review and process survey field data using Trimble Business Center software.
  • Utilize Autodesk Civil 3D to produce various civil engineering related drawings including preliminary plans, construction plans, profiles, cross-sections, alignments and design details.
  • Perform earthwork analysis and grading optimization using 3D surfaces.
  • Coordinate with and revise drawings based on feedback received from other team members and jurisdictional reviewers.
  • Prepare all drawings in compliance with Burkhardt standards and jurisdictional requirements.
  • Review plans and CAD files for quality and consistency.
  • Attend project meetings to understand scope and review completed work.

Education / Skills / Experience

  • Associate’s degree or certificate in CAD, engineering technology, construction management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of four (4) years of experience, preparing land survey drawings and civil construction plans.
  • Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D, including 3D surfaces, feature lines, and point description keys.
  • Experience with Trimble Business Center (preferred).
  • Excellent communication, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
