Position Description
ER Snell is looking to hire a CAD technician due to growth in the department. This position will work out of the Snellville corporate office.
  • Ideal candidate will have experience using technology to help generate 3d models for complex construction projects. Strong computer skills are required, and knowledge of design/CAD software is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in at least one CAD drafting software such as but not limited to :

-Trimble Business Center
-AutoCAD Civil3D
-Bentley OpenRoads
  • Experience preparing CAD and model data for use by surveyors, superintendents, and project managers.
  • Experience building 3D GPS machine control models for use in heavy roadway construction equipment.
  • Experience reading GDOT Roadway Plans and reading GDOT Standards and Specifications.

Position Requirements
Preferred but not required:
  • Familiarity with Trimble software solutions (Trimble Business Center, Trimble Access etc.)
  • Degree in CAD Drafting or Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Tech etc.
  • Familiarity with GDOT Standards and Specifications.

Responsibilities:
Prepare 3D GPS Model data for large and small roadway construction projects.
Adjust 3D GPS Model data to match field shot survey data.
Create and submit Wall and Culvert profiles and adjust to match field shot survey data.
Calculate Earthwork, Asphalt Leveling and any other project quantities.
Prepare PDF plans sheets, profiles and cross-sections used by Project Managers for GDOT submittals including: As-Built Utility Installation, Leveling Calculations, Earthwork Calculations, Plan Discrepancies, Conflicts with Field Conditions and Constructions Plans
