About This Opportunity

The CAD Technician I is responsible for preparing, modifying, and maintaining product drawings and digital drawing libraries in support of manufacturing and customer projects. This role collaborates closely with Engineering, Sales, Production, and Quality Control teams to ensure products are accurately documented and produced according to current design standards and specifications. The CAD Technician I supports the development of 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and engineering documentation while maintaining quality, accuracy, and on-time project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Create 3D models from physical samples and/or 2D drawings.
  • Prepare and modify product drawings for new and existing products.
  • Create manufacturing drawings to support production requirements.
  • Prepare product assembly and shop drawings for sales, manufacturing, and project activities.
  • Maintain accurate drawing files and documentation to support production and quality control activities.
  • Update and maintain digital databases, engineering documentation, and drawing records.
  • Adhere to internal and external customer timelines and expectations.
  • Collaborate with Quality Control to understand process control, inspection, and testing requirements.
  • Coordinate effectively with Engineering, Sales, Production, and Quality Control teams to support project execution.
  • Manage multiple assignments while maintaining quality and meeting deadlines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience with Autodesk Inventor and/or SolidWorks.
  • Ability to read and interpret sketches.
  • Ability to review and understand contract drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction and engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with minimal supervision.
  • Self-starter with the ability to complete projects on schedule.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

Preferred

  • Associate degree, technical certification, or coursework in Drafting, Engineering Technology, CAD Design, or a related field.
  • Experience with CAD drafting, 3D modeling, or technical drawing in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience creating product assembly, fabrication, or shop drawings and supporting engineering documentation processes.
