Job description

Lead Full-Arch CAD/CAM Dental Designer

Location: Rochester, NY

Position Type: Full-Time (On-Site / Lab-Based)

Department: Premium Implant & Full-Arch Restorations Line

Job Description

We are seeking an expert Full-Arch CAD/CAM Dental Designer to join our premier laboratory team in Rochester, NY. This specialized role centers exclusively on our rapidly growing full-arch and complex implant restoration line.

This is not a generic crown-and-bridge position. We need a digital artisan with an elite understanding of complex full-arch aesthetics, implant mechanics, and smile design. You will be responsible for translating clinical data and digital scans into flawlessly executed, patient-specific full-arch prosthetics (including All-on-X temporaries, final zirconia hybrids, and bar-supported restorations). If you are looking to focus your advanced digital skills on a high-tier, specialized product line, we want you on our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advanced Full-Arch Design: Design complex, high-end full-arch restorations, including provisional All-on-X PMMA/printed arches, final hybrid zirconia bridges, titanium bars, and custom implant abutments.

  • Digital Workflow Management: Utilize industry-standard software (exocad and/or 3Shape) to accurately design cases according to tight anatomical and clinical prescription parameters.

  • Anatomical & Occlusal Precision: Apply deep knowledge of dental morphology, smile aesthetics, vertical dimension of occlusion (VDO), and functional bite mechanics to ensure high-accuracy designs.

  • Clinical Consultation: Review digital scans, photographs, and doctor prescriptions. Proactively collaborate with clinical partners and lab management to address design constraints or case planning adjustments.

  • CAM & Output Coordination: Prepare and nest files correctly for high-precision milling machines and 3D printers, ensuring seamless alignment between the design interface and technical physical production.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Specialized Skillset: Minimum of 3+ years of experience specifically dedicated to complex full-arch and implant-supported restorative designs within a dental laboratory setting.

  • Software Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in exocad or 3Shape (implant modules, bar modules, and full-arch design workflows are strictly required).

  • Technical Knowledge: Exceptional understanding of implant componentry, multi-unit abutments (MUAs), and tissue-borne vs. implant-retained restorative principles.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strong verbal communication skills for troubleshooting complex clinical cases directly with dentists.

  • Digital Accuracy: Highly detail-oriented with the capability to manage multiple active digital case pipelines smoothly under standard lab turnaround times.

Benefits & Compensation
  • Competitive Salary: $26.00 – $36.00 / hour or $65,000 - $85,000 / year depending on experience

  • State-of-the-Art Technology: Work with the latest digital dental scanners, premium CAD suites, and industrial mill/print tech.
