CAD Designer (Low Voltage / Telecom & Security Systems)

Location: Livermore, CA

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire

Pay: $30-35 an hour (Based on experience)

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, plans, and specifications to ensure accuracy and compliance with industry standards
  • Create and modify detailed CAD drawings for telecom, security, and low-voltage systems (CCTV, access control, etc.)
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and design teams to resolve discrepancies and improve design quality
  • Translate rough concepts and redlines into fully developed CAD documents
  • Ensure all drawings align with project requirements, codes, and standards
  • Work independently within established processes while maintaining high attention to detail
  • Support design updates and revisions throughout project lifecycles

What You BringRequired Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3–5 years of CAD experience (AutoCAD strongly preferred)
  • Experience working with low voltage systems, including:
    • Telecommunications infrastructure
    • Security systems (CCTV, access control)
    • Life safety systems
  • Strong understanding of technical drawings, layouts, and design standards
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field
  • Experience with OSP (Outside Plant) or telecom design
