Mechanical Design Engineer (Cromwell, CT)

The Mechanical Engineer assists in the fabrication, installation, operation, application, maintenance, and repair of mechanical machines, equipment, and tools. This role also ensures that all equipment is in accordance with quality and safety standards.

  • Working with other engineers or independently, developing and designing new products from concept to full production using 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor).
  • Collaborating with cross‑functional teams or work independently to support product lines and resolve design challenges.
  • Managing multiple design projects simultaneously, reporting status and maintaining schedules.
  • Producing full engineering documentation – detailed drawings, bills of materials, and engineering change notices.
  • Redesigning products for improved function, cost efficiency, and sustainability.
  • Troubleshooting production and design‑related issues.
  • Assisting in tooling and manufacturing process decisions, reviewing first‑article inspection reports.

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)
  • 1–5 years of experience in Design of Electro‑Mechanical products (required)
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software preferably Autodesk Inventor (required)
  • Knowledge of manufacturing techniques, high‑volume plastic molding, metal stamping, engineering materials and certification standards such as UL, CSA, etc.
  • Capability of working on multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Knowledge of Autodesk Vault preferred.
  • Hands‑on aptitude and strong understanding of mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
