Job description

K. Singh & Associates, Inc. (KSingh) is seeking a motivated, self-starting, technically proficient CAD Drafter with 1-4+ years of experience. If you are looking to advance your career with an innovative and established business, KSingh is the ideal place for you.

The CAD Drafter / Engineering Technician position includes CAD Drafting and Design support for Civil Engineering projects such as site developments, heavy civil infrastructure projects, environmental projects, geotechnical projects, and construction management projects. Position includes responsibility for production and coordination of projects.

Essential Functions

  1. Provides design support to various projects by drafting for civil engineering or survey projects including site layout and utility layout.
  2. Analyze survey, mapping and materials-testing data with computer modeling software.
  3. Create plans using CAD packages.
  4. Responsible for the organization of the job files for data storage, field notes, reports and drawings.
  5. Knows and applies fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of drafting.
  6. Generate contour maps and alignments.
  7. Assist with internal Quality Control on drawings.

Job Specifications

  1. Associates Degree in Civil Engineering and/or Survey, or equivalent experience
  2. Prefer someone with 1-4 years of experience in this role.
  3. 1-4 years’ experience using Civil 3D.
  4. Previous field experience including construction projects is preferred.
  5. Prefer experience in the current technique and application of theories, precepts, and practices of Land Surveying.
  6. Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule while maintaining concentration.
  7. Must have good interpersonal, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
