Job description

Overview

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a highly motivated, detail-driven Civil 3D specialist to join our team in Wilmington, NC. In this role, you’ll bring designs to life, producing high-quality plans, supporting project teams, and delivering precise, impactful CADD work across a variety of civil/site projects.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and detail plans by analyzing sketches, notes and other input material to determine the best approach for the completion of drawings.
  • Work from sketches to produce computer-generated graphs, charts, overlays and isometric drawings including digital terrain models and surfaces.
  • Determine and calculate stormwater drainage areas and steep slope areas.
  • Conform to the company’s standard CADD procedures for layering, etc., and standard drawing procedures for sheet layout.
  • Create and setup plan sets.
  • Prepare conceptual layouts with parameters provided.
  • Work with numerous project teams to help in project completion.
  • Coordinate details and dimensions between drawing sheets.
  • Preparation of fit lists.
  • Prepare project exhibits.
  • Address assignments of increased difficulty as proficiency is increased.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety program and all applicable SOPs.
  • May be required to calculate quantity takeoffs and prepare cost estimates.
  • May be required to perform design computations, earthwork calculations and prepare complete construction plans.
  • Prepare CAD files for authorized media release to external parties / agencies

Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma/Equivalent; Associates Degree or a Certificate from a technical school, preferably in AutoCAD.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • 2-4+ years of related experience.
  • Experience in site/civil, land development, and/or municipal engineering drafting preferred.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
