Design Hire is seeking a Structural Engineer to support restoration assessment, design, and project execution for existing structures. This role is a strong fit for someone with civil or structural engineering experience who enjoys field investigation, CAD production, repair design, and hands‑on project involvement from assessment through construction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform condition assessments, site investigations, field testing, and construction observation for existing structures.
  • Analyze field data, review structural conditions, and develop practical repair and maintenance solutions.
  • Support restoration design work, including drawings, details, specifications, and construction documentation.
  • Assist with project management, client coordination, meetings, schedules, submittals, shop drawings, and field quantity reviews.
  • Prepare cost estimates, technical reports, repair alternatives, and design documentation for restoration projects.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field required.
  • Experience evaluating, repairing, or restoring existing structures required.
  • Background with parking structures, garages, plazas, building envelopes, roofs, or similar built structures preferred.
  • Strong interest in structural systems, construction materials, investigations, and repair design.
  • AutoCAD experience preferred, especially with CAD production and engineering drawings.
  • Ability to work from the office and travel to project sites for assessments, observations, and project coordination.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects, field tasks, and deadlines.
