Base pay range $65.00/hr - $85.00/hr Organization: Mercor Position: PhD-Level Computational Biologist โ€” Design Data-Centric Benchmarks for AI Models Referral Partner: Crossing Hurdles Type: Hourly Contract Compensation: $65โ€“$85/hour Location: Remote Commitment: 10โ€“40 hours/week Role Responsibilities (Training support will be provided) Design biologically grounded benchmark problems with correct answers and multiple plausible distractors. Identify, preprocess, and anonymize datasets from repositories such as GEO, SRA, and NCBI.

Subsample and structure datasets to prevent metadata inference. Validate dataset solutions using bioinformatics analysis pipelines and visualizations. Work within technical limits including dataset size and time constraints for each task.

Requirements Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in computational biology, bioinformatics, genomics, or a related field.
